Russian Language Preparatory Course for International Students
The 'Russian as a Foreign Language' program is designed to prepare international students for further admission to Russian universities in the humanities, economics, information technology, and natural sciences fields for bachelor's, master's, and PhD programs. Russian is taught by highly qualified instructors with extensive experience teaching international students from all over the world.
The Russian language preparatory course for international students includes various disciplines such as reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, history and culture of the country, as well as subjects corresponding to the profile of future studies at a Russian university. The beginner Russian language course is taught in English, so students must have a sufficient level of English proficiency (not lower than B1). Courses for students with intermediate and advanced levels of Russian are taught in Russian. Upon completion of the course, final exams are held, and a certificate of Russian language proficiency is issued upon successful completion.

Accommodation
Volgograd State University offers accommodation in a dormitory located just a five-minute walk from the university. The dormitory units accommodate five people. Each room is equipped with internet access, desks, bookshelves, and single beds. A shared kitchen is located on each floor. Accommodation costs approximately 1,500 RUB per month.
Application Submission
To apply for the Russian language course, you need to fill out the online form at apply.volsu.ru. After your application is reviewed, you will receive a response by email. If your application is approved, a contract for educational services will be sent to you. You must sign it, scan it, and send it by email to imo@volsu.ru. After that, an invoice for the first semester's tuition will be issued. Once the university receives payment, an invitation for a visa to enter the Russian Federation will be sent to your email address.
Arrival in Volgograd
For enrollment, you must have the following documents:
• Copy of international passport
• 6 photographs (3x4 cm)
• Medical certificate (with fluorography results)
• Health insurance (can be obtained in Russia)
